After practicing with firms in Pennsylvania and Indiana, our firm's founder and principal, John C. Gilliland II, established his own law firm in northern Kentucky in 1991. Since then, the firm has grown and relocated to Indianapolis, Indiana, continuing its representation of both public and private health care and non-health care clients, primarily in the fields of health law, labor and employment law, administrative law, litigation, and the privacy and security law requirements of HIPAA.
Our representation of health care clients includes virtually all types of health care providers, such as home health agencies, private duty agencies, hospices, physicians, rehabilitation agencies, ambulatory surgical centers, therapists, and skilled nursing facilities. In addition, our clients include trade associations and other nonprofit organizations, as well as business employers.
Our goal is to be counselors for our clients by helping to find solutions to legal issues rather than merely identifying problems. We strive to provide our clients with preventive advice designed to achieve compliance with legal requirements while also allowing them to achieve their goals as health care providers and businesses.
Through our attorneys' speaking and writing, we have developed a national reputation for being able to explain the law and its requirements in an understandable way that assists in legal compliance before problems arise. Yet, we are fully prepared to vigorously represent our clients before administrative agencies and in court if litigation is required.
Our firm has a casual and friendly, but professional, atmosphere providing very personalized service. Significant use of technology permits us to provide services in a cost effective manner and communicate rapidly with our clients.
